Ascorbic Acid - Vitamin C: Used as an antioxidant in its L-ascorbic acid form, can have skin lightening effect in certain preparations, is important to keeping as well as rebuilding healthy collagen fibers.
Ascorbyl Palmitate - Preservative with antioxidant properties; its presence helps make possible the blending of vitamins A,C, and D into a suspension.
Avocado Oil - High in fat, vitamin A and C. Used in folk medicine as an aphrodisiac.
Carnauba Wax - Exuded by the leaves of a Brazilian tree to conserve its moisture. Called the tree of life by the natives because of its use they make many various products.
Castor Seed Oil - Expressed from the beans of the castor-oil plant. Soothing the skin.
Chromium Oxide Green - Coloring agent, pigment.
Grape Seed Extract – A botanical extract shown to be an effective antioxidant. Used for healing, soothing and its antioxidant properties.
Green Tea Extract – Shown to be a powerful antioxidant. Recently discovered to have many nutritional and healthful qualities. It contains 20 times the antioxidant effect of Vitamin E and increases the effect of sunscreens. High in methlxanthines, which are believed to prevent skin cancer. Green tea also helps prevent irritation of skin.
Iron Oxides - Used to color cosmetics. Any of several natural oxides of iron, iron combined with oxygen, varying in color from red to brown, black to orange or yellow.
Kaolin (China Clay) – Used in oil-absorbing powders and masques; highly absorbent. Aids in covering ability and in absorbing excess oil secreted by the skin.
Lilac Extract - Used for fragrance.
Mica - Any of the group of minerals that are found in crystallized, thin elastic sheets that can be separated easily. They vary in color from pale green, brown, or black to colorless. Ground and used as a lubricant and coloring in cosmetics. Non-toxic and inert.
Micronized Titanium Dioxide - Active ingredient that provides the greatest covering and tinting power of any white pigment. Natural sun block reflecting light so UV rays never touch the skin. Occurs naturally in three different crystal forms. No known toxicity.
Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A) - A skin normalizer helping to balance all skin types by penetrating the skin. A powerful anti-oxidant that increases skin elasticity, yielding younger looking skin.
Sunflower Oil - Obtained by milling the seeds of large sunflowers. Contains large amounts of Vitamin E.
Sweet Almond Extract - Serves as a uniquely enhanced, all-natural preservative.
Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E) - A natural preservative, anti-oxidant, and moisturizer. Reduces transdermal water loss and helps to maintain connective tissue. Effective as a natural defense against harmful UV rays in preventing hyperpigmentation and sun damage.
Titanium Dioxide - Derived from Titanium, which is extracted from the minerals such as rutile and Ilmenite. It gives the greatest cover and tinting power of any white pigment and it is listed in the FDA monograph as one of the purest and most effective active ingredients for sun protection.
Ultramarine Blue - Coloring agent, derived by reducing clay, sulfur, and an alkali at very high temperatures—non-reactive chemically, low toxicity, low irritability.
Zinc Oxide - Active ingredient used as a protective coating to absorb almost all UVA and UVB rays at the skin’s surface. A metallic element derived during smelting in the form of bluish-white crystals. No known toxicity.
